Roland-Garros, from the player’s perspective

The film begins with arrival at the stadium and exchanges with the people around him. Coello addresses the camera, teases his team and heads onto the court. Published on his YouTube channel on September 20, UNA SEMANA EN PARIS… GANAMOS EN ROLAND GARROS! belongs to Off Court, his series about life on the Premier Padel tour.

Across twenty minutes and twenty-six seconds, the week takes shape through training, travel, recovery and matches. Victory alongside Agustín Tapia brings the story to its conclusion, but many engaging moments happen between those milestones: a conversation over lunch, treatment for his hand or a joke before heading out to play.

Paris between appointments

From 4:18, the vlog follows Coello into the city. He announces a walk towards the Louvre before an evening watching football. The supplied frames also show a stop on a bridge facing Notre-Dame. Paris appears through a player’s free time, the detours and conversations along the way.

The visit to the Parc des Princes, introduced at 6:20, adds another scene to the week. In PSG’s corridors, Coello talks to the people he meets. Football and padel come together through an actual visit, without needing to draw a comparison between the sports.

Later, a terrace overlooking the Eiffel Tower provides a pause. Coello talks about enjoying travel with his entourage and the evening’s plans. These sequences make room for the Paris stay alongside preparations for the tournament.

The team at the heart of the conversations

The group provides much of the film’s humour. Exchanges about the player’s fitness and the pace of their movements reveal an established familiarity. Coello even recounts a clothing mishap: he found an unwashed shirt from the previous tournament in his bag and had to improvise before playing.

The story also keeps less visible work in view. Coello shows the treatment for his hand and mentions the hours already spent working with Sergio before he appears on camera. Preparation and recovery set the rhythm of the days, even when the tone remains light.

After the final, the closing exchange returns to that collective support. Coello explains, in essence, that the quality of his entourage would have helped him through a defeat too. His appreciation gives meaning to the faces and conversations seen throughout the week.

A visual identity for everyday moments

The supplied images show a recognisable approach: low shots beside the court, moving portraits, views of Paris and the discreet crown symbol. The Off Court title sequence has its own graphics too. The series can be recognised before reading an episode’s title.

That care makes moments engaging that could otherwise have remained phone memories. Training frames place the body in its surroundings; urban scenes give the story breathing space. The presentation maintains continuity between the player in match kit and the person walking through Paris.

This is a story published by the player and produced for his channel. That selected perspective is part of its appeal: we enter his week through the scenes he chooses to share. The format offers proximity without claiming to be an independent investigation into his career.

Giving people a reason to follow a person

Viewers who mostly know Coello through his matches discover his humour, his entourage and the way he travels. Familiarity also grows through ordinary days between matches. For an audience less accustomed to padel, the walk or PSG visit can offer a first way into his world.

The vlog adds a lasting account to the tournament footage. Once the matches are over, viewers can revisit the week and understand what surrounds a player’s presence in Paris. That work makes padel personalities more accessible and gives people reasons to follow them across seasons.

This is what interests us at MPI: players having carefully produced formats to tell their everyday stories, with a voice and a visual identity. Here, competition organises the week; the people and places give it character.
