Keeping two working lives going
Olivier Vilaceque works in cloud and cybersecurity while also being a co-founder of ON PADEL in Escalquens, near Toulouse. In this ANETO episode released in July 2026, he discusses building the club and choosing to continue both professional lives.
It offers a concrete entry into a sector often described through its openings. Behind a complex there is also a timetable, responsibilities and personal decisions. The interview approaches the club through the work of one of the people behind it.
Putting a face to the risk
The episode's presentation highlights Vilaceque's personal guarantees and the difficulties of persuading banks. This is the entrepreneur's account of his own commitment to the project.
What matters to us is what that testimony makes visible: a sports venue is prepared long before its first players arrive. Confidence in the project has to be built with people who may not know how the activity works. National participation growth does not automatically resolve that local question.
Food service is a business in its own right
Vilaceque also addresses difficulties with the club restaurant. ANETO presents this part of the interview as an openly acknowledged failure. We are reporting his experience; it is not a diagnosis of every restaurant attached to a sports venue.
For MPI, the subject deserves attention from anyone imagining a club as a place to spend time. Installing tables is not enough to make a restaurant work. Post-match hospitality, customers' habits and service organisation involve another profession. ON PADEL's case invites a closer look at how these activities connect in practice.
A conversation filmed at the club
ANETO records interviews in its guests' own environment; this episode was filmed at ON PADEL. The full video, running approximately 33 minutes, is available in the embedded player.
We recommend the episode for its personal scale. It allows discussion of the work and decisions behind a venue without reducing the subject to financial ratios. Information about the club's operation remains that communicated in the interview, rather than an audit conducted by MPI.
